Bern Helmets got their start in 2004 and since then, by all appearances, have been on the forefront of making helmets which aesthetically run counter to the dominant paradigm of helmet-making, i.e. "more and more air vents", "make it look fast." Their helmets tend to look a bit more like hats, and many models can be used as both bike and skateboard or snowsports helmets. Although prints differ depending on the year, Bern tends toward more matte, solid colors rather than flashy, glossy graphics. We especially appreciate that they have incorporated a winter liner into many of their designs, which makes sense for those who ride their bikes year round.
