Gazelle (given the title Royal Dutch Gazelle by Princess Margriet in 1992) is the renowned leader in Dutch bike manufacturing since 1892. Their factory in Dieren produces over 250,000 bikes a year. The T9 is a Class 1 eBike, meaning it only provides motor assistance when the rider is pedaling and will stop providing assistance when the speed reaches 20 mph. The sensation of the pedal assist is smooth, not jarring or jerky. The bike's battery, drive unit, charger, and display (in essence the entire eSystem) are all made by Bosch and undergo rigorous third party testing for quality. The T9 is equipped with Bosch's new Smart System. Using the eBike Flow app, the rider can control all the functions of the Smart System and customize the bike to the rider's preferences. The Smart System keeps the bike up-to-date with the latest software updates, includes the new “auto” assist mode that automatically changes the level of torque while riding, and is capable of electronically locking and tracking the bike, too. Bosch's convenient and easy to read Purion 200 display is a straightforward guide to information such as current speed, trip distance, and remaining battery life, mounted near the left brake lever. From the display control unit the rider can easily toggle the motor between the various assist modes. The bike is equipped with Bosch’s Active Line Plus motor (50 Nm of torque) and a frame-mounted 545 Wh battery.

On the drivetrain, the Medeo T9 offers 9 speeds with the help of Shimano’s Alivio rear derailleur. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes offer reliable stopping power regardless of the weather or terrain, and a Suntour suspension front fork softens your ride for added comfort and versatility. And to make things extra practical for day-to-day riding, the Medeo includes fenders, a sturdy rear rack, and front and rear lighting.
