Gazelle (given the title Royal Dutch Gazelle by Princess Margriet in 1992) is the renowned leader in Dutch bike manufacturing since 1892. Their factory in Dieren produces over 250,000 bikes a year. The Gazelle Ultimate C8 is an all-rounder eBike striking the right balance between a practical transportation bike for daily commuting and a fun recreation bike for long joy rides. It's an excellent daily commuter because the riding posture is mostly upright, increasing comfort and visibility, and it's a step through frame, allowing the rider to gracefully mount and dismount the bike in either casual or work attire. It's also equipped with fenders for rainy days and lights powered by the bike's battery, which is seamlessly integrated into the bike's down tube. Yet the Ultimate C8 is also a great bike for long recreational rides since the mostly upright riding posture has a sporty lean to it, increasing pedaling efficiency for extended miles and time in the saddle. Plus the bike is equipped with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for additional stopping power at higher speeds, in bad weather, or on steep terrain. 

Powered by Bosch's Active Line Plus 3.0 motor, the Ultimate C8 is a class 1 eBike, meaning it only provides motor assistance when the rider is pedaling and will stop providing assistance when the speed reaches 20 mph. You can ride the bike without any help from the motor or choose an assistance mode (Eco, Tour, Sport, or Turbo) for the type of ride you'd like. The Ultimate C8's 500Wh integrated battery, drive unit, and display (in essence the entire eSystem) are all made by Bosch, a leading company in the eBike industry, and undergo rigorous third party testing for quality.

The Ultimate C8’s drivetrain is the ever-reliable Shimano Nexus 8 speed internal gear hub. The Shimano 8 speed hub is driven by a Gates CDX carbon belt, for a pedaling experience that’s both smooth, quiet, and free of grime and grease.
