The Ortleb E-Mate is a rear pannier which uses Ortlieb's famed QL2.1 attachment system, making it easy to remove or attach to a rear rack with just one hand. A shoulder strap is also included for off-the-bike carrying. The E-Mate has a more box-like structure and a flat bottom so it doesn't flop over when set down. It features an internal compartment with a volume of 16L, and includes a special padded sleeve for storing an eBike battery (hence the bag's name: E-Mate). The battery sleeve is removable. Like all Ortlieb products, it is fully waterproof, and the pannier closes by way of a flap that folds over the front, attaching to a strong magnet. On the front of the pannier is a postcard-sized mesh pocket for items that need easy access.
