Onderwater Tandem - Yellow Green

A very special (and very eye-catching!) consignment bike is now available for purchase: the Onderwater Tandem, an ingenious Dutch solution to family transportation, here in a yellow green colorway. This bike was originally bought at our shop about nine years ago and that family has now outgrown it; it’s currently in excellent functional and cosmetic shape for the next family to hit the roads. Other Onderwaters we’ve sold have been taken on some serious adventures–this bike is up for anything!

The Onderwater Tandem is designed for one adult rider (rear) and one child rider (front). The steering is controlled entirely by the adult rider, but your child on the front does contribute to pedaling the bike–exercise and fun for them, and an easier ride for you! This bike is equipped with an extra seat and foot platform between the adult seat and handlebars for a smaller child, and yet another seat (such as the Thule Yepp Mini) can be attached to the back rack. The bike rack is also perfect for carrying panniers to increase your storage capacity while running errands, and the bike’s built-in fenders will keep you dry in all conditions. This bike is ideal for kids who may have outgrown the traditional front-loading cargo bike, but are still young enough to tag along with a parent. 

The bike is equipped with an 8-speed internally geared hub, Shimano roller brakes, a dynamo headlight, and a rear wheel lock. This is a comfortable, practical family bike–most importantly, it’s a lot of fun to ride.
