The most versatile Brompton ever goes electric, with 20" wheels and a rear hub engine ready for any adventure you throw at it.
The name of the game with Brompton's new G Line is versatility. The classic Brompton fold makes it convenient for life in the city, while the all new frame designed around 20" wheels yields a ride akin to a full sized bike. Brompton positions the G Line as a one bike solution for riders who require a compact form factor for storage and transport, but don't want to compromise on ride quality when they venture beyond the pavement. With this, the Electric G Line, Brompton adds all of an e-bike’s benefits to the already comfortable, versatile ride of the G Line.
Brompton designed the G Line and its e-system all at once, to create a perfectly integrated, streamlined electronic addition to the bike. This model’s pep comes from a 250-watt rear hub engine, which aids pedaling up to 20 mph in three different levels of assistance. The engine is linked to a straightforward handlebar monitor, where you can choose your assistance level, control your lights, and turn on Start Assist. And the entire system can be monitored and controlled on your phone with the Brompton Electric App.
The G Line sports an entirely redesigned frame to accommodate the 20" wheels, while still being able to fold into a roughly 29" x 27" x 16" package. On the Electric G Line, the front battery pack is detachable to achieve this same compact fold. For a bike with a riding position similar to many gravel bikes, this level of compactness is an incredible feat of engineering. The G Line comes with wider handlebars than any other Brompton, which stabilizes the handling and improves control on unpaved terrain. Mounting bosses on the stem and both fork blades allow riders to attach water bottle cages or other frame fixed accessories. This version comes with a rear rack for added cargo capacity and easier rolling while the bike is folded, as well as mudguards for wet weather riding. Riders will choose between three colors (Forest Green, Adventure Orange, and Traildust White), in addition to three frame sizes (S, M, L). A sizing chart can be found below.
On the components side of things, the G Line is the first Brompton to come with hydraulic disc brakes, providing strong performance in wet weather and on steep descents when compared with rim brakes. This is a four-speed bike controlled by Brompton’s proprietary drivetrain. The G Line rolls on 2.1" Schwalbe G-One All Round tires, which provide improved traction and comfort on rough terrain. Brompton has equipped the G Line with premium touch-points including wide and grippy platform pedals, contoured ergonomic grips, and their Standard Wide saddle.
Please note that all the product images are for size medium G Lines, regardless of the size selected.
