There is a public meeting this Thursday August 22nd from 6-8 PM regarding the proposed Dickens Greenway. The opposition of NIMBY's is vocal and well heeled. If you are able to attend and voice your support, please do. More info here on the Chicago Family Biking facebook event page.
The meeting will be held at Lincoln Park High School:
2001 N. Orchard Street
Chicago, IL 60614
If you live in the 43rd ward and are able to attend and interested in speaking up at the meeting, please contact me so I can put you in touch with representatives from the Chicago Family Biking group. They are organizing and making an effort to make sure the most impactful people attend. There is going to be a limit to the number of people they allow into the meeting room. They will be gathering outside as well so even if you go and can't get in, your presence will have an impact.
If you are unable to attend, please write your alderman and express your support for this project.
Here is a link from Active Transportation Alliance with a contact form to email your alderman.
And if you want to email Michelle Smith the Alderman of the 43rd ward please do so at [email protected].
Thank you!
