Brompton P Line Electric is here!

The all new lightweight Brompton Electric P Line has arrived at J.C. Lind!

The Brompton Electric P Line is the lightest Brompton Electric bike ever. Designed for optimal performance (hence the "P" in P Line) with it's titanium Advanced Rear Frame and premium weight saving components, the Brompton Electric P Line is designed to be ridden, rolled, and carried further.

If you haven't read our blog post on the non-electric P Line, be sure to check that out here, as we detail the P Line's many new developments, many of which transfer over to the Electric P Line.

One of my personal favorite features on the Electric P Line is the dual locking seatpost, which unlocks two new ways to transport the bike in the folded position, which you can't do with the Electric C Line. First, you can raise the seat half way and roll the bike in the folded position (this works best with a telescopic seat post, so you don't have to bend over as far). Second, if you raise the seat post half way, you can rest the nose of the saddle on your shoulder, which is a convenient way to carry the bike through a crowded subway station or the hallway at the office.

Are you considering purchasing a Brompton Electric C Line or P Line, but aren't sure if it's worth paying the extra price tag for the P Line? If your use case for an electric folding bike involves carrying the bike for extended periods of time, whether that be up and down flights of stairs at the apartment building, office, or subway station, then shedding roughly four pounds off the bike would certainly be worth it just to save the extra strain on your body. Four pounds may not sound like much, but it's a noticeable difference when you hold the bikes side by side. You can also remove the battery and sling it over your shoulder, which would drop the weight of the bike to 27.9 lbs (as opposed to the Electric C line, weighing in at 33.97 lbs sans battery).

This is also the first chance I've had to see the new Roller Frame (rear rack) for the P Line and Electric P line, and I'm a fan. It's a sleek and minimalist design, with no need to upgrade to Easy Wheels as was necessary with previous iterations of Brompton rear racks.

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading and see you in the bike lane!
